The people of LaCroix are living under very critical conditions. To have a "normal" life is a luxury. The New Testament Mission exists to make a difference in LaCroix. Pastor Pierre says, "We want to take the people out of their slum huts and move them into a nice two bedroom apartment with a propane stove, sink, running water,electricity and a composting toilet in a bathroom with tile floor...something that they have no hope for."
The Community of Hope has 12 units under roof as of September 2007 Pastor Pierre reports that one new resident kisses the walls of her house all day long! She never thought she could live in such a wonderful place. She thanks God for His provision.
If the Lord provides, the ultimate goal is to have 50 units of 4 apartments to lodge 200 families!
